The monarch advised President Tinubu to remain focused on his divine mandate and not be distracted by recent comments and allegations by U.S. President Donald Trump, stressing that Nigeria’s destiny is guided by God.
“God Almighty is behind Nigeria, and that is why He made Tinubu our President,” the monarch said. “If Tinubu continues to give glory, honour, and power to God, he has nothing to fear. Nigeria is chosen to carry the glory of Africa.”
Oba Akanbi urged the President not to fear any nuclear power or global intimidation, affirming that God’s protection over Nigeria remains unshakable.
“We don’t fear war or Trump himself. Even in America, their slogan is In God We Trust. If Nigeria can do the same, no nation can overpower us. Tinubu should fear only God, not man,” he added.

Speaking on the significance of the Odun Olodumare festival, Oba Akanbi explained that the annual celebration is dedicated to acknowledging God’s supremacy and cleansing the land from generational curses.
He also urged Yoruba monarchs to uphold the worship of God Almighty rather than deities.
“God owns Yoruba palaces. Kings must extol God and not represent idols. Iwo Kingdom has been handed over to God, and He has continued to protect and provide for us,” the monarch said.
