Having interest for the festival surged after foreign party enthusiasts began seeking firsthand experience of Lagos’ famous Detty December culture.

According to Afroxella founder Buchi Henry, enquiries have poured in from Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, France, Portugal, and other countries as visitors express curiosity about the city’s festive atmosphere.
He said the concept evolved naturally into a DJ-driven celebration because disc jockeys are central to Lagos party life.
The festival will attempt a 96-hour nonstop music marathon featuring more than 100 DJs playing simultaneously across multiple beach venues, including Wave Beach, Kyma, and Athena Beach. Henry noted that the timing aligns with global New Year celebrations, boosting international visibility.

Organisers say the festival will combine entertainment with lifestyle activities such as yoga, Zumba, gospel mornings, R&B nights, rap battles, fashion displays, and food exhibitions. The goal is to deliver Africa’s biggest and longest beach party.
Henry confirmed that the event will be livestreamed to over 100 countries to promote Nigerian culture globally.
Veteran DJs like Jimmy Jatt, Neptune, and Humility are among those billed to perform, while over 50 slots are reserved for emerging talents, including female DJs.
Africa’s record-holding Masked Queen Bella is also expected to make an appearance during the marathon.
