The Lagos State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged residents to join forces with the party in its bid to remove the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the call was made during a mobilisation rally at Oshodi/Isolo, where stakeholders, led by the Lagos apex leader Rahman Owokoniran, assured citizens that reclaiming Lagos is achievable only with their active participation and support.

The party vowed to restore fairness, equity, justice, dignity, and democratic governance, values it said have been abandoned under the APC.

Owokoniran emphasised that the rally was not a campaign but “a call for reflection, recommitment, and readiness to stand firmly with the ADC,” accusing the APC of stifling opposition and forcing prominent political figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai to align with the ADC to rescue Nigeria’s democratic process.
He highlighted Lagos as a prime location for political change, noting its 10 million registered voters and the need to mobilise at least five million committed supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adebisi Jegede, the ADC leader in Oshodi/Isolo, described the party as the “fresh alternative Nigerians have been craving,” built on unity, equity, fairness, and security for all citizens.
Jegede added that the rally demonstrated the ADC’s growing presence in the area and reaffirmed residents’ commitment to the party’s vision, stating that with collective effort, Lagos can become a model of democratic progress once again.
