Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has stressed the need for stronger parenting, deeper community engagement, and sustained empowerment of women, describing them as essential pillars for national growth and stability, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking at the 20th Anniversary Seminar of the Cosmopolitan Women Club in Lagos, Hamzat said responsible parenting must remain a national priority, especially as social, behavioural, and economic challenges continue to affect communities across the country.

“Every strong nation stands on the foundation of families that nurture values, character, and responsibility,” he said. “Good parenting is a collective responsibility, and we must guide our children with discipline, love, and moral clarity.”
The deputy governor also emphasised that empowering women remains critical to building stable homes and safer communities, noting that societies thrive when women are given opportunities to contribute fully to nation-building.
