The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Shaboozey, Tyler, the Creator, and Cynthia Erivo on their landmark victories at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement signed by the Commission’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described their success on one of the world’s most prestigious cultural stages as a powerful reflection of the creativity, excellence and global influence of Nigerians and people of Nigerian heritage across the diaspora.

She said their Grammy wins are not only personal achievements but also moments of shared pride for Nigeria.
Dabiri-Erewa also acknowledged the continued global impact of Nigerian-based artistes such as Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and Wizkid, noting that Nigeria’s music industry remains a strong force internationally.

She emphasised that the names, ancestry and family roots of Shaboozey, Tyler Okonma and Cynthia Erivo are unmistakably Nigerian, adding that through their work, they continue to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage.
The NiDCOM boss urged the media, cultural institutions and Nigerians both at home and abroad to embrace a broader and more inclusive understanding of national pride by celebrating Nigerian excellence wherever it is found.
According to her, recognising Nigerians in the diaspora strengthens national unity, enhances Nigeria’s global reputation and inspires future generations.
