He maintained that decisions on future political roles lie with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and not personal declarations.
“In politics, you follow the lead of the party’s hierarchy. Whether it’s returning as a lawmaker, moving to the Senate or governorship, the decision is not solely yours to make,” Obasa stated.

He cautioned the public against misreading his statements or assuming that any ambition has been officially declared.
“People should not misinterpret the party’s plans. There’s no need for unnecessary speculation or tension. Our focus should remain on developing the country,” he added.
While affirming that he is still active in politics, Obasa said he is also aware of the importance of planning for life after holding public office.
“We’re all part of a political family. Nigeria is our country, the APC is our political strength, and as members, we support one another. The party is growing stronger every day,” he said.
He also noted that ambition must be guided by party discipline and collective decision-making.
“No one decides their next step alone. Whether you’re a Speaker, Deputy Governor, Senator, or Governor, everything comes through consultations and party engagement,” he concluded.
