The deceased, who operated within the Ahor-Uzala axis of the Oluku-Benin-Auchi Road bypass, had joined other commercial motorcyclists to participate in what was described as a balance-and-carry arrangement for a new motorcycle.
However, the situation reportedly turned violent following a disagreement at the venue.
A source alleged that some of the riders present accused Ohiremen of foul play, claiming he was not authorised to be part of the transaction.
“An argument broke out, which led to violence. The deceased was allegedly beaten to a stupor and died on the spot,” the source said.

The source further claimed that the attackers dragged his lifeless body into a nearby farm and abandoned it before fleeing the area.
Confirming the incident, the Deputy Corps Commander (Operations) of the Edo State Security Corps, Richard Balogun, said one suspect identified as Bello Bawa has been arrested in connection with the killing.
Balogun explained that operatives of the Corps responded swiftly after receiving reports of the incident and launched a manhunt for those involved.
According to him, their efforts led to the arrest of one suspect, who has since been handed over to officers at the Ahor Police Division.
He added that the suspect was subsequently transferred to the homicide department of the Edo State Police Command for further investigation.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as security agencies intensify efforts to apprehend other suspects believed to be at large.
