In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some commonwealth habits that can damage your eyes.
1. Excessive exposure to computer and phone screens for a lengthy period.
Your eyes may feel uncomfortable if you spend too much time in front of a computer. Limiting screen time can be difficult today because we rely on technology, particularly if you use a computer at work. However, there are some ways to reduce any potential harm.
2. Poor contact lens hygiene.
Not taking proper care of your medicated lens can also be threatening to your eye health. For instance, leaving your glasses in any random corner of your house uncovered can allow dust and bacteria to act on them. When these lenses are later worn without having them cleaned, you then stand the risk of transferring these bacteria to the eyes.
3. Not using sunglasses or protective glasses when in extremely bright places.
Your eyes are just as vulnerable to the sun’s rays as your skin is. Eye conditions like cataracts, macular degeneration, and other serious conditions can develop as a result of radiation exposure. Make sure to purchase sunglasses that completely or nearly completely filter out the sun’s rays.
4. The excessive use of eye drops against the prescription of opticians.
Eye drops can administer necessary medication or give you temporary relief from dryness when used cautiously. However, excessive use of eye drops can narrow the blood vessels and eventually cause more redness, so use them carefully and only as needed.

5. Not wearing safety goggles when necessary, especially when working with harmful objects.
Safety goggles are a requirement for some professions, particularly when the job is done in locations where dust or debris can easily get in the eyes. Protective eyewear can stop severe and minor injuries, such as corneal abrasions and blindness.
