EKO HOT BLOG reports that that tension escalated at the PDP’s Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse Zone 5 as security operatives prevented the BoT from holding its scheduled meeting.
According to eyewitnesses, heavily armed security personnel sealed off the party’s secretariat, restricting movement in and out of the building. Those who had already arrived for the meeting were reportedly forced to vacate the premises.
Sources said a senior security officer was overheard issuing strict instructions to his men, directing that no form of gathering should be allowed within the building.
In response to the development, the PDP, through a brief statement on its official 𝕏 handle, confirmed the change of venue. The party announced that the BoT meeting, initially slated for 10 a.m. at the National Secretariat, would now hold at the Yar’Adua Centre in the Central Business District of Abuja.
The statement read:
“Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting. The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), @OfficialPDPNig, earlier scheduled to be held by 10 a.m. at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has been moved to Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja. All BoT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue.”

Monday’s disruption is the latest development in the ongoing leadership crisis rocking the PDP, as rival factions within the party continue to battle for control ahead of the 2027 general election.
