The former Rivers State governor, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), praised Eno for working closely with Senate President Godswill Akpabio despite belonging to different political blocs. He noted that the governor’s willingness to collaborate with leaders across party lines would fast-track development in Akwa Ibom.
“Unity brings about development. Working together brings about development. Putting yourself together to be strong brings about development,” Wike said, assuring that the governor’s partnership with the Senate President would attract more federal presence and projects to the state.
He lauded Eno’s leadership style, describing the newly constructed Ikot Esu–Azumini road as proof of his dedication to service delivery.

Wike also stressed that his own commitment is to progress rather than partisan politics, citing President Bola Tinubu’s administration as one that has made funds available for state-driven projects.
In his remarks, Governor Eno highlighted the significance of unity in governance, explaining that collaboration across states and parties enhances service delivery. He expressed gratitude to the Abia State Governor for cooperating on the road project, which spans both states.
Eno reaffirmed Akwa Ibom’s support for President Tinubu’s second term, commending his efforts in stabilising the economy and enabling states to finance projects without resorting to heavy borrowing.
He also urged the Federal Ministry of Works to speed up the Mbiabong–Atan–Ikon–Inya road project, warning that delays beyond three months could lead to termination of the contract.
