The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Muhammad Aminu Sani, an 18-year-old Nigerian who has made aviation history by earning a United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Licence from Phoenix East Aviation (PEA) in Daytona Beach, Florida.

She commended the teenager for completing his pilot training in under 12 months an extraordinary feat accomplished without a single checkride failure, a rarity even among experienced trainees.
“Muhammad’s accomplishment at such a young age reflects the limitless potential of Nigerian youths when given the right opportunities, mentorship, and support,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
Born and raised in Abuja, Sani turned 18 last week. He attended Al-Hidaayah Academy for his high school education and graduated with distinction in Economics Foundation from The Regent College, Abuja, before proceeding to the U.S. for flight training.

At Phoenix East Aviation, one of the world’s leading FAA Part 141 flight schools, Sani excelled in demanding conditions that included night flights, instrument navigation, and multi-engine operations, maintaining an impressive 97% average across all FAA examinations.
In his remarks, Sani expressed gratitude and pride in achieving his lifelong dream.
“Becoming a pilot has always been my childhood dream, and today I’m proud to say I’m living that dream and enjoying every step of the journey,” he said. “I hope my story inspires others to chase their dreams with determination and never give up.”
Dabiri-Erewa described Sani’s success as a source of national pride and urged him to continue to excel as he works toward joining a leading international airline, representing Nigeria with excellence in the global aviation industry.
