The race began at the Tafawa Balewa Square and ended at the newly remodelled Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena, Onikan, with hundreds of women participating across different categories.
Speaking at the medal presentation ceremony, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Lekan Fatodu, described the milestone event as “a decade of consistency, commitment, and impact.”
“This race symbolises community cohesion and opportunities for personal development, wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership,” Fatodu said. “For a Lagosian to win the 10th edition shows the abundance of talent across the state.”
He commended the organisers for their resilience in sustaining the competition and nurturing new athletic talents.
Coordinator of the Lagos Women Run, Tayo Popoola, said the initiative began as a casual idea to bring women together through sport and has since evolved into a platform that promotes health, connection, and empowerment.

“The race is about happiness, networking, and adding value to life not just monetary gains,” Popoola said.
She added that the race caters to women of all ages and body types, promoting inclusion, fitness, and social bonding.
An excited Alabi dedicated her victory to Lagos, expressing her determination to become the first local athlete to win the race.
“I trained hard because runners from the North are strong competitors. I wanted to set a record for Lagos,” she said.
Vivian Obadiah finished second with a time of 39:55.12 to win ₦1.5 million, while Elizabeth Nuhu Power came third with 40:39.83, earning ₦1 million.
