The prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, informed the court that the incident occurred sometime in 2024, at the Atipe area of Ibadan. He alleged that Ganiyu allowed Olaoluwa Ogungbade, reportedly a cult member known as Akube, to store his gun in Ganiyu’s office.

Adegbite stated that Ganiyu was aware of Ogungbade’s alleged membership in the Aiye confraternity but failed to report it to the authorities, an action said to contravene Section 520 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Mrs Kausarat Ayofe granted bail of ₦200,000 with one surety of the same amount. She stipulated that the surety must be a close relative and gainfully employed.
The case has been adjourned until 26 January 2026 for hearing.
