Waiya alleged that Ganduje’s recent comments about forming a militia group in Kano were swiftly followed by a bandit attack in which several residents were abducted.

According to the commissioner, the development is disturbing, coming less than 48 hours after the former governor made his controversial remarks.
Waiya added that the state government acknowledges President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens, but stressed that inciting statements must not be taken lightly.
In a separate development, Ganduje told APC stakeholders during the concluding session of a four-day strategy meeting at his residence that party leaders in Kano have resolved to begin open endorsements of President Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

He explained that the meeting was organised to rebuild unity within the APC and strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the next general elections.
Ganduje maintained that the turnout and commitment of party leaders reflected their readiness to keep the APC strong both in Kano and at the national level.
