The Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, met in Abuja on Sunday to review ongoing challenges within the party and outline steps toward internal restructuring.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in his opening remarks, BoT Chairman Senator Mao Ohuabunwa reaffirmed the commitment of the body to restoring confidence among members and ensuring that pending congresses across several states are conducted without further delay.
Senator Ohuabunwa told attendees that the national leadership is prepared to collaborate closely with state chapters to bring in renewed leadership and stabilise party structures nationwide. He stressed that the PDP must rebuild from the ground up to regain its competitive strength.
He outlined the body’s roadmap, which includes conducting overdue state congresses, consolidating current reforms, and supporting the national leadership to reposition the party. He described these actions as vital for improving unity, strengthening transparency, and reinforcing the party’s grassroots engagement.

According to him, consistent congresses and strict adherence to organisational discipline remain central to rebuilding trust among members and presenting a more coordinated image ahead of future elections.
