Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed suggestions that Nigerian leaders are indifferent to the worsening security situation, describing such claims as “mischievous.”
Speaking during an interview on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme monitored by Eko Hot Blog, the governor reacted to deliberations from the meeting between Northern governors and traditional rulers held in Kaduna to address escalating insecurity.

Governor Sule noted that insecurity has evolved across different parts of the country, moving from the North-East where Boko Haram once dominated to the North-West and North-Central regions.
He said leaders, including security agencies, battle with security updates daily, revealing how frequently he receives briefings about incidents and rescue operations.

“Sometimes, I get calls early in the morning informing me that everything was okay the previous day, or that something happened overnight and the security agencies have responded and secured the release of victims,” he said. “These are the kinds of situations leaders deal with every day.”
Sule stressed that both the Northern leaders and the Federal Government are fully engaged in tackling the crisis, insisting that contrary to public frustration, leadership is not passive.
“So anybody who says leaders don’t care, or leaders are not doing enough, is mischievous,” the governor maintained. “Northern leaders are doing their best, the Federal Government is doing their best, and now we are saying we can even do more than what we have been doing.”
