Speaking on the initiative, Senator Abiru reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of older persons, describing them as the backbone of society.
“Our elderly citizens have laboured for the growth of our communities and they deserve to be celebrated and supported, especially during festive seasons like this,” he said.
He added that the outreach was part of his broader social intervention programmes designed to touch the lives of the most vulnerable.
“This gesture is a way of saying thank you and reminding them that they are not forgotten,” the Senator noted.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation for the kind gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. One of the recipients said,
