Friends and colleagues of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba have announced plans to hold a candlelight and artist night in her honour following her death at the age of 40.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the memorial event, themed “An Evening of Love, Music & Memories,” will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at LTV 8 (Blueroof), Ikeja, Lagos, beginning at 5 p.m.

According to a flyer shared on Osoba’s official Instagram page on Friday, the gathering is intended to celebrate the actress’s life, talent, and lasting impact on the Nigerian film industry.
The organisers described the event as an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, artistes, and admirers to come together in remembrance of the late actress.
“Her voice, her art, her spirit… will remain in our hearts,” the organisers wrote.
The announcement comes just days after Osoba’s passing, which was made public on Wednesday by actor Alesh Sanni through an emotional tribute on Instagram.
Sanni, who referred to Osoba as his “dearest sister,” said he struggled to cope with the news.
“Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well. Rest in peace my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba. We had amazing times and good memories together. Till we meet again,” he wrote.
Actress Adeyemo Seilat also paid tribute, describing Osoba’s death as heartbreaking.
Osoba had previously shared her battle with cancer, publicly seeking financial support for treatment nearly two years ago. Following her recovery, she announced her return to acting in August 2025, describing the experience as life-changing.
She said she hoped to use her platform to promote cancer awareness while encouraging others facing similar health challenges.
She also expressed gratitude to her management team for standing by her throughout her treatment and revealed she was open to movie roles, endorsements, and event collaborations.
Meanwhile, Osoba’s family has appealed to the public and media to disregard unverified claims surrounding the circumstances of her death.
In a statement released through the actress’s official social media accounts, the family described several reports circulating online as “false, speculative, and entirely unauthorized.”
The family appealed for privacy as they mourn, noting that any official information regarding Osoba’s passing would only be released through authorised representatives or official family channels.
Temitope Osoba was widely recognised for her performances in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions and remained admired by fans and colleagues for her talent, resilience, and dedication to the industry.
