The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, has presented financial assistance cheques to another 250 indigent residents under the Eko Cares Financial Assistance Programme, further reinforcing its commitment to social welfare and inclusive governance.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the presentation ceremony was held recently at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, where beneficiaries were formally handed their cheques as part of the state’s ongoing people-centred interventions.
The cheques were presented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tajudeen reiterated the state government’s resolve to support vulnerable residents and cushion the effects of economic hardship.
“This programme is a clear demonstration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to ensuring that no indigent Lagosian is abandoned, regardless of circumstance,” he said.
Also speaking, Engr. Shasore emphasized the importance of accountability and compassion in governance, noting that the Eko Cares initiative was designed to directly touch lives at the grassroots.
“The Eko Cares Financial Assistance Programme is about dignity, support and hope for residents who truly need a helping hand,” he stated.
