Simi insisted that the focus of the conversation must change from “how to stay safe” to a direct demand for men to stop the act of rap**g.
In her posts, Simi was direct in her messaging, stating, “Instead of always telling women how to stay safe, why don’t you just stop rap**g?” She argued that the constant need for women to be on guard is a sign of a failing system.
The singer further challenged the male audience by saying, “Why is the responsibility always on the woman to not get rap*d and never on the man to not rap*?”

Her stance highlights the exhaustion many women feel regarding the standard safety tips that ignore the root cause of the problem.
Simi also emphasized the importance of peer accountability among men.
She noted that change will only happen when men begin to hold their friends and peers accountable for their behavior. “Hold your friends accountable,” she wrote, adding, “Stop making excuses for them.”
This call to action aims to dismantle the silence that often protects perpetrators within social circles and encourages a more proactive approach to ending rap* culture.

The artist concluded by noting that making excuses for bad behavior only serves to empower predators. She urged her followers to stop normalizing predatory behavior and to start advocating for a world where women can live without the fear of being violated.
Her posts have since gone viral, with many fans and activists praising her for using her platform to speak truth to power on such a critical issue, and many others berating her.
