The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the inauguration of its newly elected state executives following the death of the party’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Yesiro Karamo.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Karamo passed away on Wednesday, just hours after attending the Lagos State APC congress held on Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, where he was elected Assistant Publicity Secretary.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, confirmed the development in a statement released to reporters on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the party received the news of Karamo’s death with “profound shock and deep sorrow,” describing it as a painful loss at a time when his energy and commitment were greatly needed. The party noted that he had just been entrusted with a role in the State Executive Council and was known for his dedication, loyalty, and belief in the party’s ideals.
Party members and supporters who arrived at the party secretariat in Acme, Ogba, on Thursday morning for the planned inauguration were informed that the event had been postponed in honour of the deceased. Following the announcement, party leaders reportedly visited the family of the late Karamo to express condolences.

Some party members later circulated information suggesting that the inauguration of the executives had been rescheduled to Friday.
The newly elected Lagos APC executive committee, which will serve a four-year term, is led by Mr Cornelius Ojelabi. Other elected officials include Moshood Olanrewaju (Deputy Chairman), Adeola Jokomba (Secretary), Azizat Mariam (Assistant Secretary), Seye Oladejo (Publicity Secretary), Babajide Sunday (Vice Chairman), Shola Eletu (Woman Leader), and Ayodele Adewale (Organising Secretary).
The congress was attended by several prominent figures, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the State Assembly Mudasiru Obasa; Leader of the Governor’s Advisory Council Tajudeen Olusi; and Secretary to the State Government Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin.
Also present were former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, governorship aspirant Olajide Adediran, and former Senator Ganiyu Solomon, among others.
