The laboratories, equipped with modern facilities and valued at several millions of naira, were donated by Dr. Adefisayo Oduwole, a member of the school’s 1976 alumni set.

The project formed part of activities marking the institution’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Speaking during the inauguration, Obasanjo emphasised that education remains a lifelong pursuit and encouraged Nigerians with the means to support educational development in the country.
According to him, investing in learning is essential for both personal growth and national advancement.

Obasanjo noted that initiatives such as the laboratory project should be encouraged because they create opportunities for improved learning, particularly in science and technology.
He added that Oduwole’s contribution deserves recognition as it could motivate others to assist schools across Nigeria.
The former president also urged the school management to ensure the newly renovated laboratories are properly maintained and secured so that students can benefit from them for years to come.
In his remarks, the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Segun Olayiwola, represented by Mrs. Latifat Jimoh of the Ibadan Zonal Educational Inspectorate, said individuals and organisations have continued to support public schools in the state by providing infrastructure and learning facilities.
He explained that such interventions help complement the government’s efforts to improve the education sector.
Olayiwola added that the administration of Seyi Makinde remains committed to strengthening the state’s education system through various development programmes.
Also speaking at the event, the Pro-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Deji Adeleke, praised Oduwole for supporting his alma mater and encouraged other philanthropists to contribute to the advancement of education.

In a brief interview, Oduwole explained that the project was designed to motivate students to pursue careers in science and other professional fields by providing them with a conducive learning environment.
He also assured that members of the alumni association would work with the school to maintain the facilities and ensure they remain in good condition.
Earlier, the school’s principal, Mrs. Mojisola Tiamiyu, thanked the 1976 alumni set for the donation and encouraged current students to adopt the same spirit of giving back to their school in the future.
