The Nigeria Police Force in Edo State has launched an investigation into an alleged bullying incident involving students of Igbinedion Secondary School.
Eko Hot Blog reports on the development follows the circulation of a viral video showing two students physically assaulting a fellow student within the school premises.

After the video gained widespread attention online, the management of the school announced that the two students involved in the incident had been expelled.
However, the Edo State Police Command confirmed that the matter remains under active investigation despite the disciplinary action taken by the school.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said the command has begun a detailed inquiry into the incident.

She assured the public that those responsible for the bullying would be identified, arrested and made to face legal consequences in accordance with their ages and the provisions of the law.
The police also strongly condemned acts of bullying, violence and intimidation in schools, stressing that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
According to the command, anyone found culpable in the case will be dealt with in line with the law.
