The Nigeria Police Force in Osun State has arrested two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service over a shooting incident that left a driver dead in Osogbo.
Eko Hot Blog reports that it was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi.

According to the police, the incident occurred at the Dada Estate area of Osogbo when the customs officers were reportedly chasing suspected smugglers of tokunbo vehicles.
During the pursuit, the driver of an ash coloured Toyota Corolla, believed to be one of the vehicles being chased, was shot.
The victim was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital.
Police authorities said the body of the yet to be identified driver has been deposited in a morgue.
Investigators also recovered several items from the scene, including a Beretta pistol with breech number 125024, eleven rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one expanded 9mm shell.
Two vehicles were also recovered from the location: a white Toyota Corolla with Lagos registration number AAA 400 GQ and an ash Toyota Corolla with registration number GFQ 0982.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Gotan, has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The police assured the public that anyone found responsible will face the full weight of the law and urged residents to remain calm while cooperating with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid the investigation.
