President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Taiwo Oyedele as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Finance.
The brief ceremony took place at the State House on Monday, Eko Hot Blog reports.

Last week, the Nigerian Senate confirmed Oyedele’s appointment following a voice vote at the Committee of the Whole. Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the confirmation of the minister-designate under President Tinubu’s administration.

Oyedele replaces Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite in the role of Minister of State for Finance. The confirmation was also highlighted in a statement to journalists by President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Before assuming his ministerial role, Oyedele chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, which was responsible for overhauling Nigeria’s tax framework.
Aged 50, Oyedele hails from Ikaram, Akoko in Ondo State. He is an accomplished economist, accountant, and public policy specialist. He earned a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

He has also completed executive programs at prestigious institutions, including the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Harvard Kennedy School.
Oyedele spent 22 years at PwC, joining in 2001 and rising to the position of Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. In addition to his corporate experience, he serves as a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and as a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
