He likened their relationship to that of a father and son, stressing that the President has not publicly or privately expressed dissatisfaction with the governor.

Omotoso argued that the President’s continued engagements with Lagos State, including official visits and projects, demonstrate a cordial working relationship.
According to him, no sitting president would frequently visit or collaborate with a state government if there were underlying tensions.
Addressing political discussions ahead of the end of Sanwo-Olu’s tenure in 2027, the commissioner said there has been no official conversation regarding succession.
He noted that while speculations continue to circulate, any decision about a successor would be made at the appropriate time.

He also touched on infrastructure development in the state, particularly the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge project. Defending the reported cost of the project, Omotoso maintained that large-scale infrastructure of such complexity requires significant investment.
He highlighted the bridge’s extensive features, including multiple underpasses and connecting roads, as justification for the expenditure.
The state government reiterated its focus on governance and development, urging the public to disregard rumours and remain focused on ongoing projects and progress across Lagos.
