A late afternoon fire outbreak has destroyed parts of the Nigerian Breweries facility in Aba, causing panic among residents in the area.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the fire reportedly spread to nearby properties around the Nigerian Railway station, as people in the vicinity struggled to contain the flames before the arrival of emergency responders.

Officials of the Abia State Fire Service and other emergency agencies later brought the situation under control, preventing further damage.

While the cause of the fire remains unknown, the Abia State Government said it is gathering information on the incident.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, confirmed that the fire had been successfully contained.
He also urged residents to ignore circulating videos being presented as live updates, noting that the situation is no longer active.
The incident raised concerns among residents, but prompt response by emergency services helped to limit the extent of the damage.
