According to the police, preliminary findings revealed that Ikpe allegedly gained unauthorised access to the company’s premises located along the airport axis and removed key equipment.
Investigators said a review of the company’s CCTV footage captured the suspect’s movements, which helped confirm his identity.

Items reportedly stolen include two custom-made Central Processing Units (CPUs) valued at ₦10,357,000 and a high-end printer worth ₦4,715,000, bringing the total value of the stolen equipment to approximately ₦15,072,000.
Further investigation led to the recovery of the CPUs after the suspect provided useful information. However, the high-end printer had already been sold before his arrest.
Police said the suspect confessed that he carried out the act as revenge following the termination of his employment with the company.
“The suspect stated that he committed the crime as an act of revenge after losing his job,” the statement said.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, CP Ogunbode Olufunke Mnips, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling criminal activities within the airport environment.
“The Command will not back down on ensuring criminal elements have no safe haven within the airport and its environs,” she said.
She added that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, reiterating the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property within the airport vicinity.
