Adelabu, who has led the power sector for the past two and a half years, also held strategic consultations with APC heavyweights, including former Osun Governor Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Pius Akinyelure.
Although he missed the initial March 31 deadline for political appointees to resign, his meeting at the Villa signals an official transition back to partisan politics under the APC banner.

The Minister’s entry into the race sets up a high-stakes internal contest within the Oyo State APC.
He joins a list of formidable aspirants, including Senator Sarafadeen Alli (Oyo South) and Oyedele Alao. With the sale of forms running from April 25 to May 2, the APC is moving rapidly to consolidate its structure in the state.
