Convener of the group, Ibrahim Adigun, said the initiative represents a shift from passive political observation to active youth participation in governance.
“KOHYA is structured across 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs with ward coordinators and media teams,” he said, describing it as a coordinated statewide platform.
He explained that the group’s decision to back Hamzat was based on his track record in digital transformation, infrastructure development and public service.
“Our endorsement is grounded in verifiable achievements, not emotion or political pressure,” Adigun added.
The group also threw its weight behind the re election of President Bola Tinubu, citing efforts in youth inclusion, digital economy growth and ongoing economic reforms.
Adigun said the movement would focus on leadership mobilisation, grassroots engagement, digital advocacy and community outreach across the state, urging young people to become active participants in governance.
Also speaking, Quadri Odewunmi, said Hamzat has made notable contributions to technology and youth development in Lagos.

Responding, Hamzat, represented by Femi Michael, expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as significant.
“Youth constitute the largest population and must be included in decision making processes that affect governance,” he said, adding that Hamzat remains committed to the development of Lagos.
A KOHYA ambassador, Itunuoluwa Soniregun, also called for stronger youth inclusion, stressing that young people must be actively involved in shaping policies that affect their future.
