Gunmen who abducted 176 residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area have issued a fresh threat, warning that the victims could be killed if their demands are not met within a week.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the traditional ruler, Salihu Bio, confirmed the development, noting that his wife is among those held captive.

According to him, the attackers expressed anger over what they see as a lack of commitment by the government to secure the release of the abductees, despite the effort required to keep them alive.
He added that one of the victims was permitted to contact her family, assuring them that the captives were still alive. She reportedly disclosed that the gunmen suspected to be linked to Boko Haram, had been teaching them Arabic and religious lessons during captivity.
The monarch further revealed that the kidnappers warned they might forcibly marry off the women and execute those they consider too weak if their demands are ignored.
The incident has heightened concern over insecurity in parts of Kwara State, as families await government action to secure the safe return of the victims.
