Upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the returnees were met by officials from NEMA, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Biometric registration was conducted immediately to ensure all individuals are properly documented for future reintegration support.
The humanitarian response at the airport included the provision of food, water, and medical care. NEMA also provided ambulance services for those needing urgent attention, luggage handling, and logistics support.
Counseling services were also on-site to assist the returnees, many of whom have faced difficult conditions in North Africa as they begin the transition back into Nigerian society.

This latest exercise underscores the government’s continued commitment to protecting its citizens abroad and managing migration through formal, humane channels.
NEMA officials noted that the reception was conducted in an orderly manner, thanks to effective coordination between multiple government agencies and international partners.
