EKO HOT BLOG reports that the meeting, which took place at Amaechi’s residence, is believed to be linked to ongoing permutations surrounding the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress.
Atiku, Amaechi and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi are among leading figures reportedly interested in the ADC presidential ticket ahead of the party’s primaries.
The development comes amid ongoing debate within the party over whether the ticket should be zoned to the South.
There are also growing indications that Amaechi may consider stepping down to emerge as Atiku’s running mate, though no official confirmation has been made.
Meanwhile, a former local government chairmanship candidate of the ADC in Imo State, Collins Osuagwu, has urged Atiku to reconsider any plan to contest the 2027 presidential election.
In an open letter, Osuagwu called on the former vice president to support a younger candidate, arguing that such a move would promote national stability and strengthen his political legacy.
He said Atiku should embrace the role of a statesman rather than pursue another presidential bid.

Osuagwu noted that Atiku has contested for the presidency multiple times since 1992, adding that continued ambition may no longer align with current political realities.
He described stepping aside as an act of wisdom, strength and legacy building.
