The Nigerian Naira maintained mixed performance against the United States Dollar on Tuesday across the parallel market and the official foreign exchange market.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that checks from Bureau De Change operators and market trackers showed that the Dollar traded at an average selling rate of ₦1,400 in the black market, while the buying rate stood at ₦1,385.
At the official market monitored by the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Dollar exchanged around ₦1,361.4.

Currency traders said demand for foreign exchange remained high among importers, travellers and businesses making international payments.
Financial analysts also noted that the gap between the official and parallel market rates continued to reflect pressure on the country’s foreign exchange market despite recent interventions by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Market observers believe future movement of the Naira may depend largely on foreign inflows, oil revenue performance and monetary policies introduced by the apex bank in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, some forex dealers in Lagos and Abuja said market activity remained relatively stable compared to the sharp fluctuations recorded earlier in the year.
