Jidenma expressed concern over the growing tension, noting that the unrest had negatively affected businesses, communities and livelihoods.
According to her, the chamber is particularly worried about the safety of Nigerians and other African nationals residing in South Africa, as well as the possible impact on South African investments and the broader business environment.
She stressed that Nigeria and South Africa have maintained longstanding diplomatic and economic ties rooted in cooperation, mutual respect and a shared commitment to Africa’s growth and development.

The NSACC chairman stated that periods of tension require restraint, peaceful dialogue and responsible engagement from all parties involved.
Jidenma urged governments, civil society organisations, community leaders and citizens to promote peace and uphold the rule of law while ensuring the safety of all residents regardless of nationality.
She further called for stronger collaboration between Nigerian and South African authorities to address the root causes of the crisis, prevent further escalation and improve conflict resolution mechanisms.
According to her, sustained cooperation between both countries remains vital for regional stability, economic resilience and the preservation of shared opportunities between the two nations.
The chamber also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening unity and bilateral relations between Nigeria and South Africa.
