Naija News reports that Momodu made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television, where he responded to growing speculation about Jonathan’s potential political comeback.
He said the former president still retains a strong political network and should not be underestimated in any electoral contest.
Momodu praised Jonathan’s reported willingness to consider re-entering the race more than a decade after leaving office in 2015.
He said, “A former President of Nigeria must have his network; it makes the race more exciting for me.”
“I salute his courage, because it takes courage to come back to say you want to be the President of Nigeria after you’ve left since 2015. That’s some 11 years ago.”
“As for us at ADC, we welcome President Goodluck Jonathan anytime. We are ready to meet him on the day of election.”
Momodu also reaffirmed his support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a resilient and experienced political figure.
He said Atiku’s long-standing involvement in national politics positions him as a unifying and dependable leader.
Momodu stated, “Atiku has been a man of destiny from the beginning. He is still standing. It tells you that he has the hand of God in his life.”
“I have no doubt in my mind that if he is destined to be the next president of Nigeria, Nigerians are going to see the goodness in this good man and they are going to support him.”
“As for me, I will support him wholeheartedly because I’ve studied him, and he is the kind of bridge builder that we need at this time in Nigeria.”

He further described Atiku as a symbol of persistence and democratic values, adding that his political journey reflects dedication to democratic ideals.
Momodu concluded by praising Atiku’s resilience, saying he remains a role model for leadership and perseverance.
