Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a 38-year-old man, Kingsley Nsikak, for allegedly assaulting his 65-year-old father, Peter Adone, to death following a heated family dispute.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident reportedly occurred in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, sparking concern among residents.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation on May 28, 2026, which escalated into a physical assault.
The deceased was said to have sustained severe injuries during the confrontation and later died despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life.
Jimoh disclosed that the matter was reported to the police by Daniel Moses, another son of the deceased and brother to the suspect, prompting detectives to launch an investigation and arrest Kingsley.
“The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of CP Felix Ohagwu has arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Nsikak Kingsley, for his alleged involvement in the death of his biological father, Adone Peter, aged 65 years,” the police spokesperson stated.

He added that the remains of the deceased have been deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Reacting to the incident, Felix Ohagwu condemned the act, describing it as unfortunate and contrary to societal values.
The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice is served and urged residents to resolve disputes through peaceful and lawful means rather than violence.
Police authorities said the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
