Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke, have arrested five suspected armed criminals during a security operation in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the operation was carried out by troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Karim Lamido following a distress call reporting an attack by suspected criminal elements on communities in the area.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, who said the troops swiftly mobilised to the affected location after receiving the report.
According to the statement, the soldiers came under attack from unidentified gunmen shortly after arriving at the scene.
Muhammad said the troops responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to abandon their positions and flee in different directions.
He said, “The troops immediately mobilised and moved to the scene. Upon arrival, they came under fire from unidentified gunmen and responded with overwhelming firepower, forcing the assailants to flee in different directions.”
Following the encounter, the troops launched a pursuit operation and successfully apprehended five suspects believed to be linked to the attack.
The army also recovered several items from the suspects, including two motorcycles, daggers, machetes, assorted charms, gunpowder and five mobile phones.
Military authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities and restore security across Taraba State and neighbouring areas.
