The Katsina State Police Command has announced the arrest of 225 suspects for various criminal offences, including kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, cattle rustling, drug trafficking and murder, during operations conducted in May 2026.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this while presenting the monthly operational report of the command on Thursday.

According to him, the achievements were recorded through intelligence-driven operations, joint security patrols and increased collaboration with other security agencies under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage.
Sadiq said the command remained committed to proactive policing and strengthening public safety across the state.
He revealed that those arrested included seven suspected kidnappers, 10 armed robbery suspects, one suspected armed bandit, two suspected informants and 21 suspected drug dealers.
The police also arrested 10 suspects linked to murder and culpable homicide, 36 suspects for rape and sodomy, 13 suspected social miscreants and 130 others for various offences.
According to the police spokesman, a total of 150 major criminal cases were reported and investigated during the month, with 109 of the cases already charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.

He further disclosed that security operatives successfully rescued 17 kidnapped victims during the period under review.
The rescued victims, he said, were debriefed, given medical attention and reunited with their families.
Sadiq also noted that several exhibits were recovered from suspects, including 20 laptop computers, two mobile phones, a master key, a scanner and other items believed to be connected to criminal activities.
He assured residents that the command would continue to intensify efforts aimed at tackling crime and maintaining peace across Katsina State.
