According to the report, operatives of the Police Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), working alongside military personnel, carried out the operation based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of armed bandits in the Gambanda Forest.
The joint security team reportedly stormed the area around 2:30 a.m. on June 20, leading to an exchange of gunfire with the suspected criminals.
The bandits were said to have fled the scene, abandoning the rustled livestock due to what was described as the superior firepower and coordinated response of the security operatives.
