EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ahmad disclosed this in a statement shared on his official 𝕏 account on Tuesday, stating that the event would be held on Monday, July 13, to honour Buhari’s life, legacy and years of service to Nigeria.
“On Monday, July 13th, we will gather in solemn remembrance to honour the life, legacy and enduring service of our late boss, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, one year after his passing,” he wrote.
He described the late former president as a leader who dedicated his life to serving Nigeria with commitment, integrity, discipline and patriotism, adding that Buhari’s contributions to the country’s development and political history would remain significant.
According to Ahmad, the remembrance gathering will bring together family members, friends, associates and other Nigerians for prayers and reflection in honour of the late president.
He said participants would pray for Allah to forgive Buhari’s shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and continue to comfort his family, loved ones and the nation.
“May Allah grant him eternal rest. Ameen,” Ahmad added.

Buhari died on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 in a London clinic after a prolonged illness. His remains were later returned to Nigeria and laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
The late president served as Nigeria’s democratically elected leader from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023. He made history in 2015 by becoming the first opposition candidate to defeat an incumbent president in a presidential election. He was re-elected in 2019 and completed his second term in office in 2023.
The planned remembrance event is expected to attract members of Buhari’s family, former aides, political associates and supporters, who will reflect on his leadership, legacy and contributions to Nigeria.
