Disclosing details of the operational rollout in an official press release issued on Thursday, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, stated that troops under Sector 2 spearheaded clearance operations targeting known terrorist enclaves in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The ground assault forced several armed groups to abandon their positions and flee into surrounding forest cover, with military forces maintaining tactical pressure in the area.
Concurrently, the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma launched targeted aerial bombardments against terrorist elements gathering in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Lt. Col. Danja confirmed that military aircraft intercepted scores of fighters moving on motorcycles, neutralizing several insurgents while forcing surviving individuals to disperse into neighboring bushes, where secondary air strikes engaged them.
A critical priority of Operation Clean Sweep IV involves dismantling the emerging Lakurawa terrorist network and preventing foreign fighter infiltration across porous international frontiers.
The military high command emphasized that defensive barriers are being reinforced around strategic border axes to block unauthorized movement and prevent armed gangs from using border communities as operational safe havens.
Furthermore, the Joint Task Force has extended its operational focus toward the River Niger axis and the Kainji Lake National Park domain.
