The governor arrived at the Aso Villa at about 5:25pm, dressed in a navy blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick. He arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting marked Adeleke’s first official engagement with President Tinubu since his victory in the Osun State governorship election held last Saturday.
A photograph shared by Adeleke’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, showed the governor shaking hands with the President.
Badmus captioned the photograph, saying, “Governor Ademola Adeleke presented his certificate of return to President Tinubu following a closed-door meeting at Aso Villa.”
Adeleke had received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday.
During the presentation ceremony in Osun State, the governor announced plans to establish a N500 million endowment fund for victims of election-related violence.
The certificate was presented to him by the INEC National Commissioner representing the South-West, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, at an event attended by members of Adeleke’s cabinet and his political associates.
Eko Hot Blog had earlier reports that, Adeleke was declared winner of the governorship election by the State Returning Officer of INEC, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, on Sunday.

Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The victory gives Adeleke another term as governor of Osun State after he initially won the 2022 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

In the 2022 election, Adeleke defeated then-incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who currently serves as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
Adeleke’s latest meeting with Tinubu comes amid political developments ahead of the next electoral cycle, with the governor now set to continue leading Osun State for another term.
