A 66-year-old widow, Elizabeth Uruakpa, abducted by armed men in the Ilisan Remo area of Ogun state has regained her freedom.

It had been reported that Uruakpa who is the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer with Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan Remo, was kidnapped last week while returning from church service.
The gunmen were said to have blocked her Honda CRV with their unregistered Red Toyota Camry and zoomed off with her.
Uruakpa, however, was said to have been dropped at the gate of the university on Thursday.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, while confirming her release said she is presently at the hospital receiving treatment.
Odutola said, “One Elizabeth Uruakpa, a nurse at Babcock UTH, Ilishan, who was abducted, has now been released and presently in the hospital on treatment. Investigation ongoing.”

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that her abductors had demanded a ransom of N50m however, it is unclear how much was paid before her release.
Also, the university’s Director of Communication and Marketing,Joshua Suleiman, confirmed her release saying “I have heard about the news. I heard that she was dropped at the university gate, though, I have not seen her.”
