At the event, Ajayi said his decision was guided by the need to strengthen the APC and support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He also cited backing Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s EASE Agenda and Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as motivating factors.

“This move reaffirms my commitment to the APC and allows me to actively contribute to its growth and success,” Ajayi said.
Drawing lessons from global politics, he emphasized that personal differences must give way to national interest. “In Kenya, Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta had their disagreements, but they came together for the country. This is the same step I have taken today,” he noted.
Ajayi acknowledged that the previous election cycle was marked by political rivalry and propaganda but said reconciliation was necessary for progress. “The bigger picture is the Nigeria project. We must come together to add value to the system,” he stressed.
He also commended President Tinubu for his economic reforms, describing them as a strong foundation for Nigeria’s future.

On security and governance, he noted improvements compared to previous years and urged Ondo residents to support Governor Aiyedatiwa to ensure continued development.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, through his Special Adviser on Legislative and Party Affairs, Babatunde Kolawole, welcomed Ajayi back, describing his return as a major boost for the APC in Ondo.
The governor highlighted Ajayi’s experience, grassroots support, and political influence as assets that would strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Ondo State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, also praised Ajayi as a grassroots politician with deep knowledge of the state, saying, “With his return, our party is stronger and more united. Together, we are well-positioned to secure victories for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in 2027.”
