EKO HOT BLOG reports that the operation was conducted on May 30, 2026, at Arina Tai 3 in the Southern Tumbuns area of the state as part of ongoing air interdiction missions targeting insurgent strongholds in the Lake Chad region.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the strike followed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations aimed at tracking terrorist activities and restricting their movement within the area.
According to the sources, a battle damage assessment carried out after the operation confirmed the neutralisation of 13 fighters.
The latest strike is part of a series of coordinated air operations by the Nigerian military against terrorist enclaves in Borno State.
On May 28, Nigerian Air Force aircraft carried out a strike on a suspected terrorist concentration in Wulgo, Ngala Local Government Area, where 16 insurgents were reportedly killed.
Earlier, on May 26, air platforms targeted a terrorist enclave at Biramiri in the Gezuwa area of Bama Local Government Area, resulting in the death of seven suspected fighters.
Military sources said the operations were based on actionable intelligence that confirmed the presence of terrorists at the targeted locations.
The sources added that the sustained air offensives have continued to weaken terrorist networks operating within the Lake Chad basin and surrounding areas.
According to the military, the strikes have significantly degraded insurgent manpower while disrupting logistics routes and movement patterns used by the fighters.

Operation Hadin Kai has intensified both air and ground operations in recent months as security forces seek to sustain pressure on terrorist groups operating in the North-East and prevent them from regrouping in remote enclaves across Borno State.
