He was presented with his promotion letter by NASRDA’s Director General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, who lauded Dr. Sikiru for his dedication and invaluable contributions to the organization.

A MAN OF MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Dr. Sikiru was born in Epe, Lagos State, Nigeria, where he obtained his school leaving certificate as the overall best science student from Epe Local Education District in 1988.

He proceeded to obtain a B.Sc (Hons) in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Lagos State University, Lagos State, Nigeria, a Master of Engineering Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and his Doctoral Degree in Communications and Information Systems from Beihang University, China.

The new director at NASRDA was also one of the 50 Nigerian Engineers and Scientists sent to China for the Know-How-Technology Transfer (KHTT) on the first Nigerian Communications Satellite, NigComSat-1.

Furthermore, Dr. Sikiru was a member of the project management team for the same satellite project.

He also attended Beijing Institute of Tracking and Telecommunications Technology (BITTT) for training on the Ground Receiving Station of the Satellite.

He was at Telesat Canada in Ottawa, Canada for the bid evaluation and contract negoriation on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, which led to the award of the project (NigComSat-1) to the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC).

The NASDRA official has also attended training on Satellite Tool Kit (STK) at Analytical Graphics Inc. Maryland, USA.
