Boko Haram Suspects Storm Yobe School, Kill Three Students, Injure One

In the early hours of Friday, unidentified gunmen, suspected to be members of Boko Haram, launched a deadly attack on Faudiya School, located in the Hausari quarters of Geidam Local Government Area, Yobe State, killing several students.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the attack, which took place around 3:44 am, targeted the school belonging to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite sect. According to reports, the gunmen invaded the school while the students were asleep, forcing them outside before shooting them.
A source familiar with the incident recounted, “The gunmen attacked the school when these youths were asleep, brought them outside, and shot them dead. There is tension and concern in the town after this incident. People are terrified over this unfortunate event.”

Another source from the local vigilante group confirmed that three students were killed during the attack, while one sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The vigilante added, “We don’t know who the attackers are, but we know they killed three students in the school. One person who tried to escape was injured.”
The Yobe State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the attack but did not provide further details on the incident.
