According to police, Queen Sodo then called her male partner, 23-year-old Tom Samuel, a 300-level student, who allegedly assaulted the victim while Queen remained present.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the victim was rescued by a concerned neighbour who heard unusual noises from the room and alerted authorities. The two suspects were arrested immediately.

“The victim was found naked, unconscious, and in a vulnerable state,” Ayanlade said. He added that the suspects have confessed to their roles in the crime. Several items, including the drug-laced drink, were recovered and will undergo toxicology testing.
“Preliminary investigation shows that the victim trusted her long-time friend, having known her since secondary school,” Ayanlade explained. “She accepted a drink provided by Queen Sodo, which caused her to lose consciousness. Observing this, Queen Sodo reportedly left the room, summoned her male co-conspirator, and kept watch while the assault occurred.”
The victim has been referred to a specialist hospital for further medical care and is currently recuperating.
Ayanlade added that the suspects remain in lawful custody and will be transferred to the Gender Desk Office in Akure for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
