The appointment is the first of its kind, as no sitting Local Government Council Chairman has previously been appointed to the Board of the LSSTF.
It represents a strong acknowledgement of the critical role local governments play in strengthening community-based security and safeguarding lives and property at the grassroots level.
The Conference-57 Chairmen expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for what it described as a bold, inclusive, and strategic decision that reinforces the state’s security architecture.
The development reflects the Governor’s commitment to collaborative leadership and his determination to deepen security management by involving stakeholders closest to the people.
The Secretariat also acknowledged the enduring legacy of the former Governor of Lagos State and current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose foresight led to the establishment of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund as a sustainable framework for security support and innovation.
With his vast administrative experience and deep understanding of community dynamics, Engr. Olowa is expected to contribute valuable insights to the LSSTF Board, further strengthening efforts to enhance safety, security coordination, and public confidence across Lagos State.
